Subject: Boundary Walks Draft Guidance

Hi,  There used to be guidance for new boundary walkers which I have redrafted and attach for comment.
Feedback from experienced boundary walkers, those who have recently volunteered and from others would be very welcome.
I will put it on the Google Group and make it available by e mail once it's finalised.
John

Dear John

Nice and direct and clear instructions!
One small point. In order to spread the boundary inspections fairly evenly, I used to suggest that it was done in the first week or anyway the first two weeks of the month. This avoids the situation where someone might do in in the last week, and the next person do it just a few days later.

Best wishes

Myrtle

Looks good John, I think it should be re-read byall doing the walk as a reminder and safety clause, prior to setting off.

You could also include

Leave your estimated time of return with a friend or relative and give them the number of the Moffat Mountain Rescue Team

Make a note of the Moffat  Mountain Rescue Number

Write your report in this kind of format (insert)

Also suggest you split the guidance up into Essential instructions and Desirable suggestions so that we are clear on safety aspects

Cheers and thanks for the good works
Peter
