The first picasaweb album is here (if you want to use it):
http://picasaweb.google.com/wildwoodwalkers/FirstWildwoodWalkersAlbum#
I've set up this album to provide space for the Wildwood Group to share
pictures. I suggest the username (wildwoodwalkers@gma
il.com) and password (carrifran) be made known to ALL MEMBERS so that
any member is able to log in and upload pictures.
Anyone so signed in can also create a new album or add their pictures to
an existing one.
The same can be done for the free blog. I've taken the liberty of
posting Dominic's last message to the group as an example:
http://wildwoodwalkers.blogspot.com/2009/10/from-dominic-ashmole-hell...
If you look at the top of the blog, you'll find links to various
possibilities. Sign in (username: wildwoodwalk...@gmail.com ; password:
carrifran) and you can create blog messages, edit or delete existing
ones, embed photographs in blogs (usually from the picasaweb space, but
literally from anywhere), and even embed youtube videos, should that be
desired. (a panorama video of Carrifran, for example?) I can advise on
how to do most of these things using purely open-source (free) software.
Wildwood Group members can create blog postings (with or without
pictures, slideshows, or embedded videos, and provide links to them from
posts on the Group site. The possibilities are endless.
I don't believe a group such as the Carrifran folk is likely to have
spam or security issues, but, should such arise, it can be simply
abandoned....Alternatively, it can be put onto a "users only" cloaking
basis, with a list of named authors.
Let me know your thoughts after a browse.
Cheers
