Welcome to the Whole Plate Photographers Column!

The WPPC is a dedicated user resource for whole plate format photographers, using film, dry or wet emulsion plates. The common theme for photographers using the Column is the contemporary use and revival of the whole plate format.  This is approximately an  8 1/2 x 6 1/2 inch format, the imperial measure being retained in preference over the metric equivalent.

The Column started on 30th June 2008 with a view to supporting newcomers and users of whole plate photography and promoting awareness and development of each others' whole plate practice.  

Unlike other internet resources such as forums, the Column is intended to be open source: whole plate  photographers can  author, edit and create their own articles/pages/reviews on the Column. 

WPCC users are welcome to contribute as they see appropriate.  The Column is managed by Hollis and myself however as a non-mainstream interest, we hope our role is invisible.  This Column is new to us.  Feel welcome to add any comments or suggestions as to how the Column might be improved.
