Hey Raey, and other stuff from the hplusroadmap group

Bryan Bishop <kanz...@gmail.com>

Hey Raey,

So. I wasn't expecting the email from you this morning when I logged on.
And it's fairly good timing considering the status of the constructor
projects that we're working on.

The project overview can be found here:
http://heybryan.org/exp.html

More can be found here:
http://heybryan.org/mediawiki/index.php/SKDB

And even more here:
http://oscomak.net/

Basically it's an open source manufacturing repository that mimics the
debian and gentoo software distribution architectures, geared towards a
self-replicating machine via aggregating the 'diy movements' together
and grounding the semantic web into physical reality (actuators,
movements, processes, etc.).

An overview that I sent to NSS / ISDC2008:
http://heybryan.org/2008-05-09.html

I'll be dumping some content on your wiki later today. I am actually a
high school student in my spare time, so I need to go graduate by the
end of the month you see, so that's why I'm not running with all of
this as fast as I can.

As first demonstration of the system, Paul Fernhout over at OpenVirgle:
http://openvirgle.net/ suggested that we show how it can be used to
manufacture origami. From there we'd get some support and move up to
some more serious bootstrapping concerns re: industrial fabrication and
so on.

And the good part is that -- in the mean time -- we're helping out tons
of other projects, like the O'Neill habitats, OS cars, etc. etc.

What do you think?

- Bryan
