Hi Anthony,
Welcome to the group and thanks for using VME.
To get around the Xbox 360 restrictions VME works by using URLs to inform
the application what files to stream and commands to run. As such special
characters are not allowed in the file name.
Another way around this is rather than streaming on the fly, I set the
scheduler to run every night converting any .AVI to .WMV. This means the
file name does not matter and I can watch any of my videos instantly on
demand.
Cheers,
Gary

Subject: WME 1.2 , File Names
Hello Gary,
I would like to join this group as I have purchased a copy of VME
1.2.
Thanks.
Also, I noticed that when decoding or streaming, if a file name has
characters, such as brackets "[]", in the name of the file, it is
unable to convert it or stream it. It gets and error. Any thoughts?
Kind regards,
Anthony
