I was very shocked to find out that a friend of mine has been banned
from using this forum. I don't understand what she's done or why the
decision was made and find it very alarming that someone could be
treated like that within our group. She does excellent work organising

I take your point about vegetarians possibly using recreational drugs. I do
not think the Vegetarian Society encourages this at all so I do not think
the name should be changed to Rational Eater after all a Rational Eater
could rationally decide that it is rational to eat meat. Humane eater
perhaps would be a better title. I think the word vegetarian means life

Hi Stephen, As I live in Scotland I am pretty sure I won't be at the Darwin
Day lecture in London and I may even be in hospital as well.

You have put a lot of thought into this and I may manage at least a Vegan day.
I do sometimes have sprouts, broad beans and potato with herbs for a meal. Although I have to admit the broad beans are sometimes from a frozen food company.
Yes other forms of protein could be problematic if one were working on the Clyde as a stevedore as I think you would need a pretty good helping of beans and peas to keep going but that is not to say I do not think it couldn't be done.
