Dear Friends, Descending From The Mountain A Day Course on Sunday 8th June, 10.30am - 5.30pm with Gen Kelsang Pagpa at Vajravarahi Kadampa Buddhist Centre in Preston Cost £20 (inc. Vegetarian lunch) Pride is one of the biggest obstacles to spiritual development. With pride, we find it difficult to see anyone as our teacher, whereas with humility we can see everyone as our teacher and learn accordingly. Dear Friends, Avalokiteshvara Empowerment and teachings on Bodhichitta, 28 - 30 March, 2008 at Vajravarahi Buddhist Centre, Preston Everyone welcome! Buddha Avalokiteshvara is the peaceful embodiment of compassion who wishes to release all beings from suffering. By receiving his profound blessings we can awaken our compassionate Buddha nature and be of benefit to everyone we meet or think about. As well as granting the empowerment, Gen Pagpa will also give a commentary to the short meditation practice of Avalokiteshvara and there will be teachings on the precious mind of enlightenment or Bodhichitta (Bodhi means "enlightenment" and Chitta means "mind", literally "mind of enlightenment") which is the main cause of the supreme happiness of enlightenment. Gen Pagpa will explain why this mind is so important, what its benefits are and how to generate it using special meditation methods which will bring alive our love and compassion for all living beings.... more »

Dear friends, Buddha Shakyamuni Empowerment and teachings on devotion with Gen Kelsang Pagpa at Vajravarahi Centre, Friday 30 March - Sunday 1 April This is a special opportunity to receive the powerful blessings of the founder of Buddhism, Buddha Shakyamuni, in a special ritual ceremony. The purpose for receiving the empowerment is to receive the special blessings of this Buddha onto our mental continuum so that our seeds of spiritual realizations are activated.
