Join A Formal Study Programme Teacher Training Programme (TTP) and Foundation Programme (FP) re-commence this month - on 12th and 13th of February respectively. If you are not already a student on either of these programmes and have been considering joining; now is a good time !! On FP we are continuing our study of Universal Compassion and on TTP we are just starting a new book - Understanding The Mind. Please remember that these are formal study programmes and joining does entail making certain commitments. For example, having decided to join FP, we should have a strong intention not to miss any of the classes. If you are interested in joining FP, you are very welcome to attend a few classes to see if you like it - before you finally decide whether you wish to join or not. Classes are held at the Centre on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings at 7.30pm. If you are interested in joining TTP then your first step is to make an appointment to see Gen Pagpa. You can make an appointment by contacting the Centre. Classes are held at the Centre on Monday and Tuesday at 6.30am and 7.30pm - so that those who work have the opportunity to participate. Geshe Kelsang has said: We may have some intellectual understanding of the spiritual path but very little experience. There is a gap between us and our virtuous aspirations. It feels as if our virtuous aspirations are there and we are here. We also find it difficult to integrate our spiritual path into our daily lives and so we cannot use it to solve our problems. As a result our ordinary everyday problems remain. Our daily life and our spiritual path remain completely separate and unrelated. Why is this? It is because we are not studying and practising systematically according to a specially designed spiritual programme. If we just dabble superficially in a spiritual path we will never gain a deep and stable experience, and our wisdom will never develop to its full potential. This is why the spiritual programmes offered by the New Kadampa Tradition are so important.
