Subject: What's the best 40-42" TV
I've got a budget of about £1k and I'd like to get a 40-42" TV.
I'm not concerened whether its Plasma or LCD nor am I worried about
what brand it is.
Has anyone got a TV of this size, how much was it and why did you
choose it?

Currently I've got a 32" Philips 9525, Liteon DVD/HDD combo and Virgin
Media box (both boxes are RGB)
Also I use a Freecom Media player which is currently connected using
composite leads but does support component. Oh and a Wii (for the kids
of course)

Any recommends?

Cheers in advance

I'm taking delivery today of a Samsung LE40M87BDX. The older ones have
firmware that needs updating, but apparently the new ones come with
the latest firmware and are fantastic!

Or just pick a TV at random, the results will be just as reliable.

Replying to my own post! I have the TV now and it is fantastic!
Upscaling SD is good, and XBox 360 1080p is fantastic. I have a Sky HD
install booked for Sunday so I will report back Sunday evening on
that.

Just to add to your confusion, a guy I work with swears by Panasonic
plasma HDTVs.... Make sure it's 1080p, whatever you get.

Please keep us posted here, I would like to know how it turns out for
you!

Kulgan.

A bit below you but Aldi are doing a Freeview 40" on Sunday for £570, but
its only 1080i. I think I'd want 1080p at that size or above.

So Pioneer claim - in spite the fact that the PDP-428XD Kuro model is not
1080p and only 1024 x 768 pixels!
