ARE YOU UP FOR A CHALLENGE ?
You Are :)
Then join us for a ... Mission Quite Possible
The Challenge
--------------
To move two gate stones, each weighing approximately 7 tons each on a wooden
sled, up a 1 in 4 incline, using only ropes, levers and any safe means
necessary, to raise by 85 feet, over a distance of 98 yards, with Pagan
pulling power only.
Have you got what it takes ?
-----------------------------
Then you too can become part of modern history and help comprise the team
that places the final two gate stones, to finally complete the grande
entrance to the Sentry stone circle.
Where
-------
Lenthor Farm, Stoksley Road, Brompton, Northallerton, North Yorkshire, DL6
2UD, UK
OS SE 391 965 GB (18 miles from Thornborough Henge).
When
------
Weekend of the Autumnal Equinox
19th-22nd September 2008
Previous Attempts
------------------
Dagda Ron reported at the Hull pub moot on Monday that approximately fifty
Pagans attempted to move one of the stones over the August Bank Holiday and
had only been able to pull it 20 yards. To successfully and safely move the
stones to their final erect position at the top of the valley we need at
least double the number of bodies on ropes (or someone with a couple of
horses).
Can't pull?
-----------
Lots of encouragement is required to persuade the stones on their long
journey up the hill, so anyone unfit or unable is still welcome to chant,
shout and generally motivate.
Camping
---------
There is plenty of flat-ish ground for pitching tents and the barn comes
fully fitted with running water, cooking facilities and in-the-dry seating
area. Two composting toilets or one chemo-wc available nearby.
See the Sentry Circle !Yahoo forum for the latest news concerning this
momentous event.

Factoid: 7 tons is approxmately 1120 stone (7112 kilos) that's a lot of
Pagans!
See you there *waves*
