A while ago I had a similar problem. I was using a range of socks at that
time and was going through a pair of smartwool socks in five or six walks. I
did try several makes and have now settled on Bridgedale. I am now on my
second pair in three years and I walk/climb perhaps between 60 and days in a
year. Bridgedale have a range of socks from quite light summer ones for use
in say approach shoes to those that are very suitable for winter. I do tend
to use the heavy duty ones all year round though.
