Hey Compo! Long time no see. How's tricks?
Having figured out you meant Stob an Aonaich Mhoir (OS spelling ;-o)
and fired up my mapping s/w I now know where you mean.
Given that it's in Scotland then by law and code anywhere you can walk
you can ride a bicycle, so you can take your bike up there. Whether

Yes. But see my last couple of posts and my discussion with John
pondering whether the method I suggested is flawed.
Note that the line is drawn between the ground level points. So for
estimating the view from a man-made construction (like Blackpool
Tower) you need to make that adjustment before drawing the line in

ImageShack is usually so reliable that I no longer usually check the
links beforehand. But I will in future as that one was obviously a
dud. Does it come with velcro loop to go round the strap? I understood it
was just a belt clip.
On both my rucksacks I have added D rings where the padded strap ends.
I find that is high enough to give my GPS a good view of the sky. The
source of those rings no longer exists - they came from the old style

The videoclip referenced above makes it obvious that this section at
least is equipped Via-Ferrata style with a cable that you can clip into
with a harness. There are lots of Via-Ferratas in the alps that have
similar exposure and also no planks to walk on, but instead you need to
use iron rungs or the rock for your feet.
