Had about 1.5" here (535 feet AMSL) but down in the valley bottom in
Keighley there doesn't appear to have been very much at all and traffic
on the major roads is flowing normally. Here on the hillside it is a
different story with only off roaders getting around. (I currently have
an Audi TT parked half across my upper entrance with its back end in the
hedge). 4 x 4 it may be but you need winter tyres as well to get around
on snow.
No doubt the centre of Bradford is spick and span without so much as a
flake of snow to disturb the residents but out here in the sticks the
council has ignored us completely and not even gritted the bus routes.
About time Keighley regained its independence and stopped relying on the
scraps from the City of Bradford's top table.
I don't think the snow is going to last even though the outside
temperature is only 0.8C, which is actually lower than it was at 8 am
when it peaked (for the moment) at all of 1C.
Hmm. Failed to post this at the time. As of now (10.54) outside
temperature now up to 1.4C.
