Okay so someone at HQ decided to randomly gw her? Do they have enough
people and time to do that? Don't think so. So the question is why did
someone at HQ decide to gw her?

Granted that is a figure, however, that doesn't support the point
you're trying to make. You have no idea, unless you have some insider
info or you're a mind-reader, how many parent/OH crb applications are
'just in case'.
In my last role in scouting I put 14 parents (as OH) through crb. All
were on a parent rota to help/supervise an activity/meeting and in

Presumably it will also have to report the reason. And if the reason
is adult politics and has nothing to do with child protection, it will
presumably be reported as such, and thus have little or no bearing on
future employability.

50,000 CRB checks a year done by the Scout Association (Source,
Disclosure News - the CRB's own official newspaper) .
Now, sorry, but there ain't 50,000 leaders being checked every year is
there? The vast majority of these checks being done are being done on
parents because many groups now have a standard practice of checking

I trust scouts to do what they think is a good job.
I trust my scouts not to do (what is in their opinion) a half-hearted or
slap-dash job but my standards are what count when it is my reputation or
assets on the line.

Was Turing a sadist? I don't recall reading that in his biography.
I actually worked beside a Miss Whiplash (in her spare time) who was a very
very quiet nice woman. She set me straight on a few misconceptions I had
about the BDSM scene (via chat, not demonstration). They do not indulge in
nasty sadistic violence (any more than a straight hetero indulges in rape)

Just try that defence in court, if you're ever charged with
having an insecure / unsafe load and don't accept the fixed
penalty notice. I'm afraid it won't carry any weight with the

I always tie down my own load. I might supervise others loading, but I'll
tie it down. If someone else has tied the boats on the trailer down, I'll
