Subject: Snowdon Marathon - great fun
Hi all, just mentioned the Vibram Five Fingers in another thread having
seen them at Snowdon on a bloke running.

I entered Snowdon as many had recommended it to me after a good run of
ultras and marathons. I wasn't prepared as well as I could have been
running only once a week and found it a tough challenge. I over cooked
the downhill from pen y pass which told by 16 miles. The weather was
atrocious, it was a 20 minute delay at the start and everyone was
soaked. By the later stages and the awesome hillclimb at 21 miles I was
soaked and ready for a cup of tea and sit down frankly. I thought I was
Ok after a steep downhill where I really got some speed up after years
of XC but when I got to the town and flat I cramped up and nearly
collapsed - the first time in a race. Still I got back to find a power
cut at HQ and no hot drinks - fortunately I had the caravanette nearby
and had tea there.

Beachy Head next year I reckon.
