For those that know me, and that isn't a lot on here at the moment, I have just handed in my notice at work.
In 4 weeks I will no longer be working nights, shifts or weekends, clearing up after the bloodshed in Manchester over a weekend and not having to deal with patients [1]. Instead I will be doing mostly 9ish to 5ish [2] and playing with a couple of macbooks [3] and getting to see a *lot* of student nurses jumping up and down.

Sometimes it's so very refreshing to go back to 9am-5pm Monday - Friday, especially when shift work just wears one out. -- -- Nick ICQ: 9235201 EMAIL & MSN: nickmoo...@spamcop.net -- Triumph Tiger 955i -- http://www.bgn.me.uk -- Touch - -- LOTR#4 SKOGA#8 DS#7 BOTAFOT#159 BOTM#2 FBOTY#06 PM#11

It will be. I have about 2 weeks left of shift work (just days though) with most of next week off and the last week of my notice being a holiday. Some of that will be from 8am to 8pm but those will be the last of the long days.
I am looking forward to coming into work at about 9, but probably more like 7.30-8 (but it will be my choice and not dictated by somebody else) and then leaving anywhere between 2 and 5.
My new boss has already said that she doesn't want a lot of time owing racked up and that me and the other person in the training team should be able to get any time back the following week. :) -- Nursey RN ALS & APLS Provider MIRTTH#6 IbW#09 4#COFF EFFA MOP#1 Honda CBF600 ABS (nursey at ukrm dot net) UKRM FAQ: http://www.ukrm.net/faq/

Was this driven by the lure of something better or sickness in the current condition?

Nice, you do know that now is not a particularly good time to be out of work don't you :)

Cool.
Did you mention your ability to revive a comatose Stan Stannard in your application?
I was ever so impressed, he even made it back to the bar, IIRC.

My position was (and, to be honest, largely remains) one of complete ambiguity.

By the lure of something that I have wanted to do for a long time. -- Nursey RN ALS & APLS Provider MIRTTH#6 IbW#09 4#COFF EFFA MOP#1 Honda CBF600 ABS (nursey at ukrm dot net) UKRM FAQ: http://www.ukrm.net/faq/
