Well, you say that...
I've flown from Staverton airport, which is about 5~7 miles from my house, to the Isle of Man several times. There's only 2 scheduled flights a day, so last check-in is 30 mins before take off. And, a 19 seater plane means no queue. And the parking is free. And, on one occasion the pilot came into the 'departure lounge about 20 mins before the scheduled time, said "Everyone here? We might as well go, then" and off we went. -- Champ We declare that the splendor of the world has been enriched by a new beauty: the beauty of speed. completely different. This was having to endure a queue for 45 minutes whilst the Italian border police (or whatever they're called) were dicking everyone around, getting through security (including the now standard confiscation of cans of coke/bottles of water etc.) and then when we eventually got through, there were no amenities. I mean, no way at all of getting anything to eat or drink. And (waiting for the usual suspects) this was for a mainstream EasyJet flight, with about 200 other people, all sweating in a non-air-conditioned concrete-floored hall, with not nearly enough seats for people to sit down in.
And Pescara itself was shit. This was Italy (and I know it's the wrong side) but I tried and failed to eat the shittest pizza I've ever been served in my entire life there.

Coming back from Kefalonia, I took a 1.5 litre bottle of water through security with me. It was x-rayed, mind.

The best pizza I have ever had was in an Italian shithole about halfway between Turin & Milan.

We left in 72. Strong possibility we knew each other, or at least our families.
Our bungalow was on Jalan Pernama, and still clearly visible on google maps.
According to my father the other bungalow was somewhere now occupied by the engine maintenance building, Changi N Way so we must have been very close.

Crikey.
I've no idea of your real name. Let me know (via neal at champ dot org dot uk is you want) and I'll ask F, and see what she says. Her old man was called Robertson, and was a wing commander, or some other rank requiring a moustache.

I lived there from 66 to 69, then we moved to Longlevens, where I think we must have bumped into each other at some point.
