Was just out in the garden when I heard a droning sound. The missus is at work, so I knew it wasn't her.
Looked up and there was a *huge* US WW2 bomber flew overhead accompanied by a smaller fighter. I've just had a quick Google and it looks like it was a B17.
I did wonder why, but then realised what the date was!

That'll be "Sally B" then, as I think it's the only airworthy B17 in Europe. http://www.sallyb.org.uk/

The 300th aniversary of when good King Karel XII of Sweden beat the Russians?
I don't see the relevance.
I don't think it is true either cos there were lots of Russians and only one of him but history is full of superheroes so he might have.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold. I remember antonye <anto...@ukrm.net> saying something like:

We were reminded of todays date by a new radio staton oop 'ere in Manchester. "Classic Rock" it's called and apart from having no boybands or slush music, just GREAT music they have a great line in adverts for the stations.
Today it was...
"It's the 4th of July today, the anniversary of the Independence of America and we're celebrating by doing........
SOD all".
You just KNEW he wanted to say "Fuck all" and he meant it too.
