Subject: Free sat nav maps?
So where's the best place to 'pirate' maps for either a Garmin Nuvi or
a Tom Tom XL?

We're off to South Africa at the end of December and being a bit of a
pikey I've no intention of paying full price on maps if I can get them
for free. We've got two Sat Navs sitting around the house and I don't
care which one we take with us as long as it's got reasonably up to
date maps that have cost minimal cash.

One of you lot must know where to get them so do your worst...

And me.

There's a bit of faffing around as you have to run a program to
register the maps to your satnav's serial number for them to work, but
the program ot do so is straightforward to use.

For free maps it is always good to check at http://www.gpsfiledepot.com/
mostly US Topos, but also some others.

And of course http://mapcenter2.cgpsmapper.com/ they have some South Africa
