Has Guy Chapman Ever Posted as Lou Knee?
Has Guy Chapman ever posted as Lou Knee? Why will he not answer the question when he's been asked it by several different people (surely if he hadn't posted as Lou Knee, he would have just said "No" by now)? And why won't any of his fans answer the question "Why will he not answer the question?"? I think it's obvious to *everyone* that he *has* posted... more »

Rudge-Whitworth wire wheels
Rudge's research laboriatories finds "soft" wheels best. The article is referenced below. The following was a message not accepted through moderation of uk.rec.cycling.moderated I've re-submitted it there, rbt and now here. ...- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - ...Awkward cuss. paragraph 2 "The introduction of the suspension wheel for bicycles marked a great... more »

Blue light experiment.
I was greatly interested in a letter from a cyclist who had fitted a set of rear blue flashing leds to go alongside his flashing red ones. Since he fitted them 3 years ago, he says that drivers have given him much more room than when he rides with them turned off, presumably as they will associate... more »

Risk article
[link] Apart from the mention of risk compensation which we already know about, there is another angle which might be relevant to cycling: 'what we call "risky" is often an expression of disapproval ... as much as a measure of real danger' And of course: 'no measure of risk is complete without a calculation of the potential... more »

RoadRat Buildup Report
Finally I have declared the buildup finished. There is the small issue of the HeBe Chainglide but I won't fix that until I have some single speed(narrow) chain ring bolts. So, this is where it all started, many thanks to Paul Dexter at Cotic for answering many fuckwitted questions. [link]... more »

Cycling KSI up by 19%
The most recent government statistics show that from last April to June cycle deaths and total number of life-threatening injuries has increased by 19 percent from what it was at the same time last year. So lets be hearing the excuses. Have I ever told you that I think cycling is quite dangerous?

Another Pedestrian injured by a Cyclist
It's amazing how often this happens, yet they continue to get away with it. If this was a motorist, he'd have been traced, arrested and charged by now It just shows the pure contempt that these evil pavement cyclists have for the law and for their fellow human beings. [link]... more »

Another crash into a building by a pavement motorist.
Its amazing how many are killed and injured and so much destruction caused by cars on pavements, and so few and so little caused by cyclists on pavements. "Two people have been injured after a car crashed through the window of a fruit and vegetable shop. The victims, thought to be a customer and an elderly driver of the... more »

Rotten metal ?
Hi, I picked up a claud butler dalesman frame, to replace a frame I broke a chainstay on, from ebay. Before I set about prepairing it, could someone take a look at some rust on the chainstays and let me know if they think it's worth doing or not ? As received : [link]... more »
