Potential driver strike at Southern on 28 Dec 09 
  Taken from an Aslef ballot paper I have seen. Aslef believe that it is "totally unacceptable" that Southern are not recognising Monday 28 December 2009 as a bank holiday. As a result drivers are being balloted for strike action. Ballot closes 7 December 2009.

BBC News - Tube check cuts 'risking safety' 
  Plans to cut track inspections on a stretch of the Tube will risk public safety, a rail union has said. Track checks on the Jubilee Line extension are to be reduced from twice a week to once, officials confirmed. More at [link]
