RBS Accessibility page
They finally got round to letting people without an RBS current account but with an RBS credit card log in. To be fair, the site is generally okay, however, this is the text from their Accessibility page - "Accessibility Header Browser compatibility You can view the RBS website on a wide range of browsers.... more »

Domain-name sale and leaseback - is this real?
I put together a small site for a customer a while ago, registering a couple of domains based on his business name (unremarkable) and an abbreviation of that name (also unremarkable). He tells me now that he's had a "valuation" which suggests that some dealer would be prepared to buy the domain(s) from him for £50,000 and lease them back to him for... more »

LINXCHEK.HTM
When a site is maintained using a plain-text editor or similar, rather than a specialised page-set authoring tool, and especially when pages are renamed or moved or removed and content is moved between pages, it is necessary to ensure that all local links still point to pages and anchors that exist, and that anchors are not duplicated within a page.... more »

I've tried overriding css for input, button, td, tr but nothing seems to get rid of the padding. Anyone got any ideas?... more »

DNS Propagation
Afternoon all Is anyone else seeing long delays in DNS propagation. We use 123-reg and I've had 2 domains where the nameservers went through quite quickly but it seems to be taking 2 or 3 days for A/MX records to update. I't driving me mad as we have one client who's losing e-mails as some users... more »

Non-list items in lists
Imagine a long nested list of items, or a long definition list, prefaced with an index to that list. To make it easier to use, you might want to put a link to "List index" at various points in the list, perhaps at each major group in the list: List of members by birth date 1990 Back to list index... more »

Quote: Ebay & Paypal optimised and built for IE
For ages now when I buy on ebay and follow the login to paypal I get hit with an alert box of "Warning this page contains some unencrypted info... etc". I finally decided to poke paypal into explaining themselves and after a series of feeble responses including "Your password is not accepted" and... more »

playing midi files in web pages
I would appreciate some guidance on simple html coding for putting a midi file in a page with a displayed player, so the user can choose to play it. I'd like to code a midi file to play on as many platforms as possible - certainly IE6,7,8 and Firefox 2 - 3.5 I am trying to move away from embed tags but struggling to find a code... more »
