But they did, the license was withdrawn by the council at the polices
request. The court case was about Mean Fiddler claiming the withdrawl
was illegal (Well that's how I understood it anyway). It doesn't
matter how early people get licences if the authorities can withdraw
them at the last minute. 

What Mean Fiddler should have done was to make triply sure they have
any possibe problem covered just in case. They obviusly didn't in this
case.
