Wanted: emu usb midi interface

I don't think I've posted since last year, but I've come out of Lurking to
ask if any on UKMG has anything resembling an Emu XMIDI 2x2 or similar
going cheap ?
Even a one in one out would probably do, as I just want it to sync Reaper to
my antique Korg D1600 via MTC. It works brilliantly through my EMU 0404usb

I saw a bass advertised on gumtree. no model or price indicated, but looked
sweet. Said it cost £160, looked right... offered £90, was accepted, went to
see it, bought it.
It's heavily inspired on the Warwick Thumb, without the curved body.
Passive. Slightly neck-heavy too.
But it's pretty sweet. Construction wise is quite well made. Fingerboard

My fretless acoustic bass turned up today, the one I bought from eBay
for £49 and all things considered, it is not too bad.
Action is pretty high, and the frets are drawn on the finger board, and

Do you guys generally have compression before or after distortion?
I was putting the compressor first, but having read something on the Keeley
site I swapped it around - I really like the way is makes the distortion
rock solid, but not what it does to the noise floor.
I am officially stuck on the fence with this one. What do you guys prefer?

by er, me.
It's a USA model, with a step down mains transformer installed inside the
cabinet.
I have modified the circuit as follows :
1) Replaced the small internal reverb unit with a proper grown up
Accutronics tank. Much better.

Fretless friendly bass strings

After the bass session on the saturday morning in the portland hotel on
monday morning, I realised that I was lacking a fretless bass and an
acoustic bass. So I decided to compromise and get a really cheap
fretless acoustic bass.

Hi guys. I bought a used electric guitar and I've been impressed with
the strings it came with. I want to restring my other guitar with the
same brand and gauge but... well, I know the gauge from a micrometer
(10-49s) but not the brand. The only distinctive feature is a red
covering over the strings beginning about 1 1/2 cm from the ball end.
