"Hi,
I have a Sky+ HD box (Amstrad) and just went to watch a film I
recorded the other night and it asked me for my PIN. It must have been
something to do with me attempting to watch it before the watershead
because I've never been asked for my PIN before. Anyway I knew that
the PIN should be the last 4 digits of my card so I went to pull it

Reset it by holding down the Select + Green keys until the LED flashes
twice - them immediately press Select once more.
Hope this helps.

I've only had it 3 hours and I've broken it. I spent 20 minutes on the
phone to Sky and went through all the master reset procedures, but to
no avail - none of the sky buttons now work the sky hd box! They don't
understand why and are sending me a new remote. Fortunately in the
meantime the Sky + remote seems to work it fine!

 Argh!
Help
This has totally arsed up the situation. Now whenever I press Sky, TV
guide or services, the TV switches AWAY from the HDMI input! What has
happened is the top buttons are now cycling through the AV inputs like
the help button used to! How can I reset the remote?!?!

Thanks bor that, but it seems to confuse the heck out of my old bravia
and just switches to AV1 when I press Sky and the help button no
longer switches to AV. I'm getting a new TV later this week so if i
have similar problems I'll post again.
On another tangent, is there no setting to back up on screen icons

My GF's new Toshiba TV will detect the DVD player
being started and switch the TV to HDMI-1, but
annoyingly it won't then switch back to where it came
from once the DVD is switched off. Unlike it would do
if it were connected via scart. I believe there is a switching
standard for HDMI but it seems not all devices follow

It's an old-ish Sony Bravia LCD, so presumably the switching wasn't
thought necessary when they built it, especially given that the HDMI
connection is helpfully top left, so the wire sticks out the side of
the set! Nice work Sony!
I'm getting a new telly for myself for christmas, so perhaps that one

HDMI switching isn't standard (cf. SCART pin 7 which is!)
Some TV makes may be able to do it themselevs. On my Sony Bravia I have a
macro setup (using the "Green" remote button) which switches the TV to AV5
(which is HDMI 1) when any of the top buttons ("Sky", "TV Guide" etc. are
pressed)
