That's more to my taste, although still not quite it.  But well worth
investigating.

Here's my contribution for generally under-rated and unknown: Duncan
Browne.  You can find a fair amount on you-tube.  Started folky, moved
via proggy to gentle rock of a sort, with often a slightly decandent
turn to the lyrics:
