York Road Market is to be closed by Southend-on-Sea Council. This
seems unbelievable to me, because it will not only put a lot of people
out of work, but it will deny the market to the ordinary people of
Southend, who visit it every day, as I do.

A campaign has been set up to save the market, and we can only hope
that the Southend Council sees sense and reverses its ridiculous

Perhaps nobody knows this market, but this is a typical problem of the
destruction of local features in towns throughout the UK. This is
corruption I believe, because the local Council employees are probably
being bribed to agree to the dstruction of our market.
