I'm thinking that I'll have to get one of these hdtv flat screen jobs one of
these days. Surround sound and all that. There again, a good pair of stereo
headphones would probably do just as well. Somebody developed a holophonic
system a few years back, but it doesn't seem to have come very far.

I would be a bit careful about "thread drift" as you call it.
It is not smart and the motives of those involved are suspect.
There are some very bright people with authority and an axe to grind
using ukba as a prime source.
