Hello visitor[the newbie introduction]This is the home of the Tessa IM (Instant Messenger) developers. Here is where the developers talk about the new (and old) ideas concerning our favorite instant messenger. What that basically means is that right here we talk about everything we want our application to do (or not do) and how to make it do it (or not do it). [the application]Tessa IM is a light cross-platform, multi-protocol, modular (plugin-based and module-based) Instant Messaging client application.
It currently has two graphical user interfaces early in the stage of development, one based on wxGTK and the other on Qt 4. While the two graphical interfaces give it a native look on most desktops, thanks to Qt4 it looks native also on all platforms that Qt4 itself supports.
Tessa IM uses Lua extensively to provide a great deal of flexibility and customizability.
The project source code is stored on Google's servers, available here. Tessa IM project owner and lead programmer is MattJ. He has made some development stages screenshots. Visit his project page for more info. AnnouncementsTessa IM is in a early stage of development and while being an innovation in matters of instant messaging clients as far as we'd like to think of it ;-), it needs more volunteers to help.. If you're interested please join us in the MUC (Multi User Chat) room tessa@conference.jaim.at or leave a message here. Latest MUC meetings were talking about using libstrophe (or a Lua binding)...
