It was a guy I worked with, a member of a rather whacky fundie cult. On the other hand, once he found out about my Cherokee ancestors, he did stop trying to "save" since it was pointless to try. (BTW, I cracked every password he put on his computer in a few seconds. He always chose common words from the Bible and could never quite grasp the idea he was predictable.)

Well, at first I thought it was someone in a position of authority over you, or someone who claimed some moral authority, like a pastor. That would have been morally bankrupt. It sounds like this has descended to the level of personal bigotry, which- while still morally bankrupt- at least is not a misuse of power.
