Tangle's Everyman

Please come and see Everyman, the first project from Tangle.

Tangle is Cornwall's international theatre project. We work with artists from across Europe, Africa and the West Indies in collaboration with Cornwall-based artists. Our work celebrates theatre's important role in uniting the nations of the world.

Tangle is about sustaining strong and imaginative global partnerships where local and international artists can flourish together. Through Tangle, artists from diverse backgrounds come to Cornwall to create remarkable stage work that opens up new markets for them.

Everyman is one of five morality plays still in existence. It is dated at about 1498. There are no records of it being produced from the banning of religious plays in 1559 until 1901. In the last 100 years, directors and writers have experimented with ways of expressing the message of 'the meaning of life in the face of death' through this very old play.

Our production is performed by just three actors with an original score of music and song composed by Phil Innes, who will also be playing live. The show is directed by Anna Coombs and to our knowledge, is the first theatre work developed and produced in the south west with a cast made up entirely of African and West Indian actors.

It would be fantastic if friends and colleagues can come to see the show, which plays at The Brewhouse Theatre & Arts Centre, Taunton, from 4 - 7 and 11 - 14 November at 7.30pm each night. Tickets are only £8 (£6 concessions) and are available from The Brewhouse box office on 01823 283244. The production is around 90 minutes long.

We hope very much to see you at the show.

All best wishes, Anna, Emmanuel, Darren, Tunji, Phil and all at Tangle

Anna Coombs
