I'm writing to update you on the Future Clapham project and let you know how
you can be involved in an exciting arts project for an exhibition around
Mary Seacole House.

The successful development partner will be decided at Cabinet on 26 November
and it looks promising that our ambitious plans will be achieved. We'd like
to thank those of you who have attended workshops and public meetings and we
look forward to sharing the plans with you and will be announcing a public
'launch' event for December shortly.

You can read more in the latest Clapham October newsletter due to be
distributed 17 October and available to read on the internet next week. Log

'Making it happen in Clapham'

This month a group of local community artists, Arts4Change, will be running
a series of arts activities. Join in and your work could be on public
display around the Mary Seacole House building on the corner of St Luke's
Avenue from December this year.

Two activities will be open for all to try during half term - no experience
and no need to book.

*       Tuesday 23 October, 10am to 4pm at Clapham Common bandstand cafe and
Saturday 27 October, 10am to 4pm at Clapham Library: 'Wish you were here' -
design a postcard inviting people to visit Clapham.
*       Saturday 20 October, 2pm to 6pm at Clapham Leisure Centre and
Thursday 25 October, 2pm to 6pm at Clapham Library: 'Portraits in clay' -
model a modern day gargoyle in clay.

Work will also be taking place in local primary schools, Lambeth Academy and
Trinity Hospice.
