The issue before the last council election was that a new pool was to be
built on the Mary Seacole House site and that no guarantees could be given that
the new pool would not be significantly smaller and shallower (owing to smaller
area for rebuilding and proximity to tube line). Think there was even doubt

Hi,
No doubt about it. The combined area of existing leisure centre and depot is huge has a great potential for luxury housing. I still dont understand why this depot area does not revert to community use with a modernised leisure centre. Surely the sale of M S House would generate a good percentage of the funds required. Also the consultation process was so biased only showing newly built L centres against the current LC always portrayed as "old, dark and grim". There was almost nothing about good modernisation projects to be seen like it couldnt be done.

Dear all,
I did a search of Lambeth website and this document has shown up. I
don't if the attached document helps but it is Lambeth's Development
Brief which was approved by its Cabinet on 10th Sept. It is going to
full council on 17th Nov.
Unless I am mistaken, it is asking developers to come up with the bid

I have just heard an as yet unconfirmed rumour that Labour controlled
Lambeth Council has just reversed its decision and will now demolish
Clapham Manor pool.
So much for a campaign that used the issue to gain political control -
should this rumour turn out to be true.
If anyone has any further information on this please let me know
