Thought I would share this with people. I've had a problem with my Yaesu VX2e Radio recently. PTT was not working. I investigated all sorts of options to try and get a repair done but to no avail (no one was willing to have a look at it, or I was quote £45 'just to have a look' or worse was advised to chuck it out and by a new set -... more »

Aberdeen round
I would like to thank the Aberdeen club for an excellent kick off to the 2009 Scottish Nationals. The weather didn't quite play ball but the hospitality was superb. Particular thanks to Simon for providing the accommodation, Katka (sorry if this is spelt wrong) for the endless supply of cakes, Lou, Hillary,... more »

Weekend 20/21 June
All, We will hold the AHPC round of the Nationals this weekend as planned. Major Simon has a house in Braemar which sleeps 6 in beds (most taken I think), has floor space and room in the garden for half a dozen tents.... more »

X-Scotia thoughts
All, I see Dave has beaten me to it in the thanks! I couldn't make it along in the end because I have a bad back, which was pretty galling! The raw buzz of excitement I felt as the race was running is starting to fade now into a warm memory and I want to write some of it down before the sharp edges go completely.... more »

Royal mail - a quick junk mail prevention weblink
I know it is not 100% paragliding related but it has a large environmental issue (and reduced irritation factor) I thought you might appreciate.... This site was set up by the royal mail to allow you to stop junk mail being delivered to your house - it worked for me for now at my nth address and only takes about 50seconds to do. Saves the hasssle of junk mail and saves a bit of paper to boot....... more »

Hill Advice
Hello, I'm a low airtime CP (member of the Thames Valley club). I'll be in the Torridon area of Scotland for a week at the beginning of May for walking and cycling but I'm very tempted to bring my wing too. Is anyone able to advise me on some good hills in the area which would be suitable for a bit of ridge soaring or long top to bottoms. Are... more »
