Ochils may have been disappointing, but aerotowing at Thornhill a few
miles away was spectacular. From the first tow at 11.30am (cloudbase at 1600") to 3.30pm (cloudbase at 4200") it was stay up 'till you're fed up. Or in my case stay up 'till you have to get down because you've got a family dinner organised and the wife will kill you if you're not home by 5pm. Only flying was short hops By 4pm the high cloud from the front began to shut down thermal activity so we all opted to have a search about out front while flying down. Although bouyant over Menstrie no one found anything to turn in. at least the glider was out of the bag and the weekend weather duck was bust.
