Subject: ochils 270408
Ochils were dissapointing today 3-4mph SW looked good when I started to walk and was expecting to do the ridge run to Dollar up but on top there was only the occasional small thermal coming through, with the wind switching from S to W depending on thermal activity. Only flying was short hops By 4pm the high cloud from the front began to shut down thermal activity so we all opted to have a search about out front while flying down. Although bouyant over Menstrie no one found anything to turn in. at least the glider was out of the bag and the weekend weather duck was bust. logan Dumyat and some promising cumulus looking SW to stirling Wee myreton Dave Fletcher, Gordon smythe, Craig Looking East to Alloa
