Thought I would share this with people.

I've had a problem with my Yaesu VX2e Radio recently. PTT was not working.
I investigated all sorts of options to try and get a repair done but to no
avail (no one was willing to have a look at it, or I was quote £45 'just to
have a look' or worse was advised to chuck it out and by a new set -

We will hold the AHPC round of the Nationals this weekend as planned.
Based at Braemar rather than Aboyne as Big Bad Bob is going to Spain so
won't
be there to look after us at the Glding Club.
Major Simon has a house in Braemar which sleeps 6 in beds (most taken I
think), has floor space and room in the garden for half a dozen tents.

I know it is not 100% paragliding related but it has a large environmental issue (and reduced irritation factor) I thought you might appreciate....

This site was set up by the royal mail to allow you to stop junk mail being delivered to your house - it worked for me for now at my nth address and only takes about 50seconds to do. Saves the hasssle of junk mail and saves a bit of paper to boot....

In May this year, we will be hosting the first round of the British Paragliding Cup (9th -12th ), and, later the same week (14th -17th), The British Paragliding Championships. A unique opportunity to compete against (and to watch and learn from ) Britains best pilots on our home ground ! Both comps will be based at Tibbie Shiels Inn, at St Marys Loch in the Borders.

BHPA Club Coach Course - Aberdeen - 14/15 Feb 2009

Folks, the BHPA Club Coach is definitely going ahead this weekend in
Aberdeen and there are still places available. Any pilots wishing to
attend will be most welcome, and as an added incentive members of the

This weekend will be the rescheduled date for the LLSC round of the Nationals. The forecast is good for flying at Tinto both Saturday and Sunday. Sunday looked much more promising so after a debrief to chat about lessons learned on Saturday we headed along to Broughton. Wind on the hill was light WSW but it was expected to back and increase during the day, so we had a number of tricky considerations in setting the task - ( How to spread 100 gliders along the Broughton ridge, how to avoid the Edinburgh airspace, and how to get everyone away before it got too windy !) . A Race task to Lauder via Peebles, with a pre start turnpoint at the S end of the ridge.
