Subject: Prof Lola Daisy's response

Following on from my posting about the proposed airspace restrictions on the
Moorfoots Ridge.
I have just received the following response from the CAA.

Subject: Hands up who fell for it?

Dear Mr Smith

Many thanks for your passionate and well reasoned response to the proposals
for airspace restrictions to be implemented at the Moorfoots Ridge.
I pleased to announce that the two bodies involved, The Association for the
Protection of Raptors in the Lothians and The Federation of Ornithological
Organisations in the Lothians and Scotland, have both withdrawn their
proposal.
Both the A.P.R.I.L and the F.O.O.L.S have seen the error of their ways.
I can only hope that few of your members went to too much trouble providing
evidence discrediting such a preposterous proposal.

With best wishes

Prof. Lola Daisy

Cliff, fair play - that was brilliant. I haven’t laughed quite so hard in a
long time - I think it was the realization that I’d been had, coupled with
the sheer relief that there was nothing to worry about! The only mitigating
plea I can make on my behalf was that it was about 6 in the morning when I
read your email. I must admit I am REALLY  pleased to see I wasn’t the only
one taken in! The whole thing was really very well done!

Anyway I have since written to the CAA and expressed concerns about the
behavior of one of our members. The description I gave was of course yours
and I understand that if you are seen flying in Britain again (or possibly
just seen) there is every chance you will be shot. Ya baw bag!

All the best,

Steve
