blaqkout is dope. solid overall, but "hey playa" and "9x out of 10" are
both excellent. and totally different from one another. the former's a
great summer jam, the latter sounds like a weird electronic-indie-rap
track. like quik and kurupt doing their best antipop consortium
impression or something.
on first listen, i like the new mos def ("the ecstatic") a lot also.
has the new camp lo ("stone and rob caught on tape") gotten mentioned
around here? i thought that was really good too. kind of a different
(more electronic) style on the beats, but it works. "after the marv" is
great, classic stylish-but-lyrically-incoherent camp lo, IMO.
