i like it.  was listening to it while working last night/today and i was
a lot more into it than on the other listen i gave it a couple weeks
ago.  is this guy an influence on burial, or is there other stuff that
has that drum programming style (the timing, the clicky/glitchy sounds
on the high end that don't pretend to sound like real drums at all)?
what would you classify it as?  garage?  early dubstep?  it's all stuff
from a few years ago, right?

El-B is considered to be the 'godfather' of Dubstep, with his early
'Ghost' projects cited as the origins of the genre.

That collection covers his 2 Step, Grime and some of the 'Ghost'
production and yeah it is a retrospective look (probably ranging between
10 years old at the most to about 2006/7.)

Interviews with Burial that I've read - when he's been asked about
influences, El-B (and specifically his drums) is often mentioned with
Burial deeming them the ideal drums so it's not surprising there are
similarities.

ah, ok.  that all makes sense then.

anyway, nice one on the upload, thanks.  "the club", "show a little
love", and "lyrical tempo" are probably my favorites.
