Then you have Lil Wayne talking all that gangsta shit and when the Crips show up he hides like a lil bitch. Mind you it was the right thing for him to do, I just get tired of the studio gangsters talking all that bullshit and when the shit goes down they act like scared bitches.

Ugh! Hip-hop disgusts me with stories like this. The insistence on embracing criminality and negativity to the extent where your favorite rapper must have a prior criminal record and must get arrested for something within one week of his record release to make him "real" is ignorant. I'm embarrassed by it.
So what if he was formerly a CO? I thought his CD was rather good. Shouldn't that be enough?

yeah you should be embarrassed by him being your favorite rapper... he is a total fake... and it is rick false that has totally embraced criminality and negativity in an attempt to make money off of it...
why didn't the dumbass just say yeah i was a CO instead of not telling the truth about it??? its because he is selling on the personna of being big in the dope game ie a major fraud...
> So what if he was formerly a CO? I thought his CD was rather good. > Shouldn't that be enough?
i thought it was shite, now its an even bigger pile of shite...
the real rick ross is in prison, not a guy who raps about how much weight he pushes and being the biggest boss...
rick false just guerilla blacked his career and im pretty happy about it...
I pretty much side with H8ER here... I get your point Mocha... but true - it's Rick Ross (the rapper) who embraced the ideas of criminality in order to sell records. So, therefore it would be Rick Ross who is selling the criminality to kids... and it's even worse if it is false.
I'd also like to say that this doesn't just go on in rap... there's a great book by some Irish guy who went to school with Paul Hewson... who tells the story of how Hewson took his look and even his name (Bono) and turned it into Platinum records.

...and that's exactly what disgusts me about the whole situation. The fact that he feels that he must deny it to preserve his career (assuming it's true) and the fact that something like this is relevant or even newsworthy.
People are morons sometimes. It's just like Usher said. "I'm just singing about a feeling. A thought that crosses your mind. I never told y'all to actually go have sex up in the club for real. It's just a song."
It's moronic that people actually need that explained to them.

Fraud? Fake? Are you telling me people actually still believe there is a direct correlation between a rapper's rhymes and the life that he leads or has led? How naive can they be? It's entertainment. An act. A show. An established way to generate money.
Sheesh, it's like kids finding out Santa doesn't exist.

So what's there to be upset about? Why curse the man out?
