blaqkout is dope. solid overall, but "hey playa" and "9x out of 10" are both excellent. and totally different from one another. the former's a great summer jam, the latter sounds like a weird electronic-indie-rap track. like quik and kurupt doing their best antipop consortium impression or something.
on first listen, i like the new mos def ("the ecstatic") a lot also.
has the new camp lo ("stone and rob caught on tape") gotten mentioned around here? i thought that was really good too. kind of a different (more electronic) style on the beats, but it works. "after the marv" is great, classic stylish-but-lyrically-incoherent camp lo, IMO.

Yeah I mentioned the Camp Lo album. I liked it too. I'm definitely going to purchase the quik & kurupt, and the camp lo album sometime soon.

Camp Lo related, did you two check out the Freebass 808 - Moonbass ep?

yeah, i'd downloaded both, and just recently got the CDs.

"twilite speedball" and "auditorium" are my favorites on this at the moment. "bad news and good dope" is a great hook, and the little outkast nod ("feelin great/feelin good/how are you?") is a nice touch too.
i never heard the two albums betwen BOBS and this, and heard pretty widely mixed reviews on both, but this one's really good.
