Subject: Looking for Strip - Noemi? Nimmi?
I have a dim memory of this comic strip from a couple of years ago, but
my Google skills are failing me.  I think it was about a young Finnish
woman living in London (it was definitely in English, and the young
woman looked Goth-like) but I can't find any mention of it.

Does this ring any bells with anyone?

Thanks!

- Strobe.

It is a Norwegian strip, called Nemi, written by Lise Myhre. There's a fan
site offers translations here <http://nemi.thtn.com/home.shtml>. I'm not
sure where you can read the strips in English.

That's it!  Brilliant, thank you :-)

Now you've given me the right name, I've been able to find out where I
saw it - in "Metro" a free newspaper that's distributed in London.
I'll pick up one tomorrow and see if it's still in it.

Cheers!

- Strobe.

NEMI!

Nemi is Norwegian, and in the original strip it is quite clear she
lives in Oslo:
        http://spray.nettavisen.no/kultur/tegneserie/nemi/

However, the free newspaper "Metro" publishes an English translation,
which I found here:
        http://tinyurl.com/stu0

I don't know if this link is permanent or a week-by-week thing.  If it
changes, you can find Nemi by going to
        http://www.metro.co.uk/
then clicking on "Games & Puzzles", then scrolling down to "Nemi
cartoons" near the bottom of the page.

I don't see any indication in these strips of Nemi's nationality or
where her English-translated alter ego lives.

I <heart> Nemi.

Turns out you can find all the old translated strips at
http://www.metro.co.uk/img/pix/ (scroll down until you find the files
starting "nemi...", obviously :-)

Apparently they translate "Oslo" to "London", which is a pity, but I
suppose I can understand why!

I <heart> Nemi 2 :-)
