Dear ratzooman network colleagues

It has been some time since anyone has posted messages on this email
network, so I thought it was time to remind people of it's existence and not to
be shy in using it.  Remember, this email forum is simply a way to keep in
touch, share information, ask questions to other members of the group on any
issue related to rodents and the diseases they carry or transmit, advertise
important events such as conferences or tell others about the work you are
doing.

Since the network was set up, more people have joined, and we are now at 71
members, up from the original 60 members added after the ratzooman
workshop.  For the benefit of these new members, and to remind ourselves,
messages that we send are automatically archived on our google group
webpage.  Details of how to send messages or unsubscribe should appear at
the end of this message, along with the google group website address.  There's
actually quite a lot of new functions available on the google group website
where members can add their own webpage information so it is worth having a
look.

In the spirit of the network I'm attaching a recent publication, which I believe is
the first paper of its kind (correct me if I'm wrong!) to make a strong link
between rodents, living conditions and disease, in this case Lassa Fever.  I'm
sure there will be more of these type of publications coming out of the
ratzooman project data over the next few years.  Ratzooman has already
produced a number of publications, and I'll be having an update blitz on the
ratzooman website very soon, giving details of papers published so far.  If you
have difficulty with the attachment, it is uploaded on the google group website.

With best wishes

Steve
