Overview

EAN-13, based upon the UPC-A standard, was implemented by the International Article Numbering Association (EAN) in Europe.

Invoking

• The data field for a EAN-13 may contain 12 or 13 digits.
• If 12 digits are supplied the the 13th checkdigit is calculated automatically, otherwise the digits are encoded as supplied (including any incorrect user supplied check digit).
• The includetext option should normally be supplied.
