with much regret it is my duty to inform everyone that this Newsgroup
will self destruct at the end of the month. This is mainly due to a
lack of participation. I am old and tired and can't post 20 to 30
times a day. So I have made arrangements with another Newsgroup for
all of us to migrate over. It should be a fresh start and hopefully
will entice more active posters to participate in discussion. I want
to thank all of you that have participated and have been active.

"The Political Lounge" but leave it to wither away. This is because
some members who have put in a lot of work posting can go back to
their archives if they so wish, but as far as active participation is
concerned you, Bill, will not be active any longer, neither will the
main participants here. So no need to close it. Maybe some others
would like to inherit the site? Just a suggestion!

It should at least be closed off to new membership - otherwise it will be full of spam and porn in no time.
You could also close it to posting, so the archives sit here available for reading - but no more posting and no more need to manage it.
I value everyone's truths and I know I've been wrong many times. I
honors me to be able to associate with people who have beliefs that
they hold dearly and faith in their truths the honor and convictions
that seems to never die. I sided with Voltaire and Jefferson on much
of my late analogies and that row is a hard row to hoe. I can't insult
what I see as truth it goes against my core beliefs. That truth gives
me hope for humanity to ascend beyond the bondage to war, hate and
revenge. It's my dream and the dream of those who came before me that
wrote their truths and their analogies of how we should obtain it.
It's that give me liberty of give me death I was commissioned after
being enlightened and I still have much to learn. Maybe someday I will
prove what I believe now false but until that time I will continue to
search. I like the words of the old masters and I believe it was
taught to us to loose that ability for a reason because the secrets of
logic lie in those words of wisdom. "They" would yield no power over
us if we all knew the truth or were all on the same page. I know stop
the diatribe.......

No doubt, many of us will be able to find each other again somewhere

Sorry to hear that. I LIKE slow moving forums. They give you a
chance to take your time responding to a thread without everybody
forgetting what the discussion was about.
Fast paced forums have their attractive: they're good when you have a
couple of hours to burn and you want fast paced discussions.
But I'm already subscribed to several fast-paced forums. Maybe too
many.
I'll give the new forum a try... at least while its still growing.

You're that way about any topic that it unflattering about the UK, but
yet you don't hold back unloading on other countries and you expect
others to respond.
