Since our last newsletter we've been busy
developing new resources that we hope you'll find
both interesting and beneficial.
Instead of our regular
Percussion Pad articles, this month we're
featuring two exciting additions to One Voice
Music.
The first thing we want to inform you of
is that we have a new website dedicated entirely to
our percussion, song & dance project Edun Ara - bloco de carnaval.
The second is to inform you about
MangoDrum, a fantastic bit of software that can really enhance
your percussion learning experience and composing
skills. You can download a FREE trial
version right now by clicking on the banner at the bottom of this
newsletter.

Hope you enjoy these new
developments Raz |

EXCITING ADDITION No. 1
Edun Ara - bloco de carnaval is
a percussion, song & dance performance based project that reflects the
African heritage found in Brazil & Cuba. We run workshops
that culminate in a stage performance and/or street parade.
Participants from all over the UK have attended our workshops and since we
began in 2005, the project has become so popular that it has warranted its
own website!
A key feature of our new website is the on-line material
that's available to Members. Here you can access all the
repertoire and learn the grooves with MangoDrum software. Membership application will be
available from mid-July.
Participants of this July's Edun Ara - bloco de carnaval
project in Hitchin become 'temporary members' with special
access to the members area straight away providing them a chance to
work with the resources in advance.

EXCITING ADDITION No. 2
MangoDrum - a percussion composer
for Windows
Written by MightyMango in collaboration with One
Voice Music, MangoDrum
software is a valuable tool for composing percussion grooves
and helping you and your group learn and
practice your repertoire away from the rehearsal room. Download the FREE version below.
A few of the software's features:
- three sample grooves for you to work with - Samba Reggae,
Tumbaiao & Samba
- some standard samba instrument sounds for you to compose
with
- easy to read grid style notation system
- creating compositions and playlists
- muting or soloing of individual
instruments
- a flashing beat bar to mark the tempo that can be switched
on or off
- adjust the tempo down so you can practice at your
own speed
- a click track you can drum along to
- printing out the grids in different formats as a reference
- and much more ....
MangoDrum is very simple to use - you
really don't need to have prior experience of working with music
software. It is designed to meet the needs of community samba groups and
their members.
