Subject: Afoxé Dance Course

Hi All, I thought you may be interested in this dance day!

Calling all dancers,

The Nottingham School of samba will be hosting an Afoxé dance day not to be
missed.

If you missed out on Afoxé Manchester or participated and got grabbed the
Afoxé bug then this is your chance to develop your knowledge and skills of
the Age old tradition of Brazilian Afoxé.

In this course participants will study the age old Brazilian dance and
parade tradition of Afoxé. Drawing upon choreography and movements from
Candomblé we will work towards structuring a dance routine that will be
performed with live percussion from the Nottingham School of Samba.

The course will focus on three – four Orixás (deities / gods celebrated in
Brazilian Afoxé).

Previous dance experience will help greatly assist with this one-day course.

About the tutor:

Adriana Rosso

Adriana has studied and danced with Meninos do Morumbi and Gaviões Da Fiel
Samba School in São Paulo where she was twice Princesa da Bateria in 1997/
98. She soon became a lead dancer and teacher at Meninos do Morumbi and in
2005 she came to the UK to work with Bangdrum Workshops and Meninos Oldham.
Adriana is an exceptional performer and choreographer with a vast experience
