Very large variable

Hello,

We're working on very large variables (300 000 bytes) and it seems too
heavy for QM to work on this large variable and so time is exponential
when adding data to this big variable.

Is there any optimization on QM part we can do to work faster with
big items ?

Hopefully just missing something obvious. Simply want QM to be able to

Hi Martin,

@SELECTED returns the number of records returned from the last EXECUTE
(D) 'SELECT' or 'SSELECT' performed. However, "QSELECT' does not.
Universe ( also using @SELECTED ) does return the count from all three
operations as does D3 and Unidata ( when using SYSTEM(11) ).

Server load

On a server, with less than 10 users, my server load stays at 1.00 all
the time. It seems that the qmlnxd is very heavy on the cpu. How can I
optimize that and avoid this server load ?

There is a AMD Athlon dual core 1900, with 1Go.

I did check the 'Event Viewer'. The error code would indicate a
problem with my username so it seems unaware of my Windows account
name. The link you sent me talks about checking 'Local Security
Policy'. As far as I can tell, XP Home does not provide that. I

Each linux login has one or more fixed users on QM and they get

Hi all,

I work with D3 VME on a daily basis and I have started experimenting
with the open source version of OpenQM.

On D3 I can run the following command from TCL:
COPY DOS:C: /transfer/somefile.txt

to copy a file from the Windows 'C' drive.

Problems with installation

SORTMEM and SORTMRG

I have SORTMEM set to 32768 and SORTMRG to 4 on our production box as
well as the development box.

The production box has 8 gigs of ram and 160 gigs of ssd for disk. It
is quite fast.

The dev box is considerably slower and uses disk drives. I am not
quite sure of the exact specs on the dev box.

QM on OSX: Error 1 deleting shared memory

I decided to see how QM would run on my Mac (OSX 10.5.8), so I
downloaded the Mac version and used a "Personal" license code for
initial testing.

By mistake, someone clears the newvoc file, so each new account has no
VOC. Since then, we have upgraded to a new qm version but it's still
empty. Could I just copy the VOC content in there or is there a way to
restore a standard NEWVOC ?

Configure.file changes create.index option

I changed the case sensitivity using CONFIGURE.FILE NO.CASE on a file
with indexes. When doing this, I think that it rebuild indexes.

But my indexes were using the NO.CASE option and after the configure
it switched back to CASE. So I think that there is a bug with
Configure.file, loosing all indexes configuration.

I would like to throw out for discussion adding PICK.MATRIX and

I have noticed over the years that on some systems the value of escape
was 251 and on others it was 27. It is 27 on QM to my knowledge.

I am interested in creating an icon to start and stop qm on a windows
server 2003 system (or any windows system).

I have a shortcut to services and scroll through the list till I get
to qm. I can then start and stop it there (it automatically starts
when windows boots.

Any suggestions?
