Subject: QMTerm on new Windows XP Home install

Hi Martin,

I'm able to bring up QM Console which may suffice for now.

I did check the 'Event Viewer'.  The error code would indicate a
problem with my username so it seems unaware of my Windows account
name.  The link you sent me talks about checking 'Local Security
Policy'.  As far as I can tell, XP Home does not provide that.  I
have not tried setting up Accuterm yet.  I'm wondering if this will
be affected by all this as well?

Cheers,
Jon Wells

Hi Jon,

All aspects of user authentication on Windows are handled by the operating system. We simply pass the supplied username and password to Windows as part of creating the QM process. Using AccuTerm instead of QMTerm will make no difference.

Which of the error codes listed in the KnowledgeBase article did you get?
